    Question:

Gary, yes it’s freehand and loose masking…straight edges and stencils of posterboard.  I tried a medium tack frisket a couple of months ago thinking it was exactly what I needed, but it turned out to be disappointing. It wouldn’t stick, it just floated on the surface and paint got under it. I found clear packaging tape to have a decent tack. I’ll see if I can order a higher tack frisket. I’d like to have wider sheets, definately. The paint I am using is Liquitex acryllic from the tube, adding water and mixing small amounts at a time. I’m spraying only the primaries right now. Phthalo blue #316, Brilliant yellow/Cadmium yellow/Medium hue (mixture)#830, Acra Crimson #110. I mix the colors on the canvas(spray some yellow/spray some blue=green) I use diluted gesso for my white. My airbrush, my very first one, an Aztek.  I’ve heard alot of talk here and elsewhere about the Iwata models, I looked into them at my local art supply store(their catalog)…they don’t have them in stock yet, but I keep checking. As far as crippled hands? (a labor of love and fresh Exacto blades!! ha.) Victor

Keep posting your work! Gary

    – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Hello all,  some of the regulars here have seen my paintings before. As a newbie at airbrushing, (six or seven months now) I am striving to refine my techniques while trying to maintain a certain unique style and flavor, besides just having fun with it!  I’m also sort of new to the internet thing too. But anyway, if you would like to take a look at my new piece…It’s called "Genesis"…(at the top of page two of Airbrush on Canvas category) www.GalleryBox.com/meet/jocys Maybe if someone could come up with a better title for it, I’m open to suggestions. But email me from the site, it gets to my inbox faster. Cheers! Victor ps: I don’t work for GalleryBox, but they have been good to me. Here’s a plug for them. If you need an inexpensivly priced website and are not computer/website savvy, you can set up and maintain a site quickly and easily with easy uploads. They have a free trial period too. Just go to their home page www.GalleryBox.com  You’ll see the link for it there.
