  • Badger Universal 360 or Anthem 155???

    Question:

I am new too but have been thru 4 airbrushes so far looking for one that handles the way I want I have found that I use different brushes for different things My Iwata’s are about my favorites for most things… HP-B is great for fine line control and small paint quantities but doesnt like the thicker viscosity paint like T-shirts require. The Iwata Eclipse HP-BCS is probably my favorite all around brush. Very versatile you can change the needle and cap sizes and handles a wide variety of paints. I also have a Paasche Milenieum the big brother of the VL. I like it too and its parts are readily available and inexpensive in my area but it seems to require a little more air presure for the same paints then my Iwatas As for the Badgers I dont know anything about them yet nor have I played with the Aztec laughably enough the brush that got me into airbrushing even though I’ve never owned or held one. (its a long story but I love to work with wood and I fell in love with the pretty box the aztec was in. began researching airbrushes in prep. to buy one and determined that the aztec wasnt the one I wanted just then.  so I bought a different one and never did get that damn box but sure do like airbrushing…LOL) Anyway….you may want to look in on http://www.dixieart.com/ thats the end of my short book of knowledge….and most of it would fit in a thimbal LOL

Doesn’t it make you sick to see these uninformed people paying retail or above prices for airbrushes on Ebay? They need to do some homework before they waste their money. Mike

Got an Aztek 4709 with six nozzles AND in a nice wooden box, as a freebie prize in a model making competition, are they worth the effort or should I use the nice wooden box to bury it in ?,                          regards,            Terry

Buy an Iwata or Olympos and save yourself the trouble (and expense) of having to buy one or the other later on anyway                ** Airbrush Art by J.w.Baker **         Specializing in Wildlife & Fantasy Wearable Art – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text – Newsgroups: alt.airbrush.art Can anyone tell me the pros and cons of these two airbrushes?  I am new at this and am wondering which would be best for all around airbrushing….Fron motorcycle gas tanks to T-shirts to fingernails.  Anyother advice? Had a Badger 150 for over 15 years till it literally fell apart. Loved that gun until I bought an Eclipse! Then awhile back I got a heck of a good deal on ebay on a Badger 150 new never used. Started sprayin on a project with it, guess what, 15 min into it I set it down and picked up my ECLIPSE. Try them you’ll like them!

Terrry, I cant really tell ya.. in researching the brushes the thing I noticed was that the Aztec and nozzle were of a plastic type material and I was afraid they would not handle the solvents required for cleaning very well.  As it turns out most of my airbrushing thus far has been with water based acrylics so It probably would have worked fine. I am just now looking at getting into the laquers or base coat / clear coat type stuff that would have possibly caused it trouble. So if your going to do T’s and stuff with acrylics it might be a real good brush but I just dont know.  I would love to find one like you did good and cheap just to experiment with.
